alert alert!new development in candice's personality: CIVIC MINDEDNESS.
because i just called the Aljunied town council(and this rather curt and unappreciative woman picked up my call but incompetent and rude service personnel is another topic altogether which cannot mar my patriotic and responsible citizen mood now)
to tell them that WATER is gushing out of this pipe outside block 120.
WATER.
the nexus of our fragile relations with malaysia and the spring of life and the exemplication(by our lack of it) of our vulnerability as a small resource poor nation
and this isn't the first time it's been gushing out of some random pipe in block 120. so why isn't anybody taking action!
it's been running since 6.00 am!
i feel proud of myself since i've never talked to anybody in the town council before. the closest i got to anything even distantly related was probably my parliament stint and shaking Ms Lim Hwee Hua's hand upon receiving my erh edusave merit bursary?
anyway.
what am i doing i'm supposed to be studying. but i guess water is just as important for my future as well. and hello nobody has arrived to check the bloody pipe! what's going on? are they going to say erh it's okay because all the waterfall that is cascading endlessly into the drains now is going to be recycled as Newater!
no because our human liquid waste is the source of Newater. or is it not?
Singapore is full of conundrums.
on a happier note thank you God for getting me through GP cos i always seem to read good relevant articles before i attempt my papers. hooray:D
