From Wiki: The Pillowman is a play by Martin McDonagh. A drama, it tells the tale of Katurian, a fiction writer living in a police state who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories, and their similarities to a number of bizarre incidents occurring in his town.
Katurian is being interviewed; Some of the short stories he wrote are similar to some bizarre child murders that are happening in the town. Katurian of course denies these allegations, stating that although his stories are gruesome it is the job of a storyteller to tell a story. After being tortured Katurian is thrown into a room with his mentally handicapped brother Michal. Michal says that he was the one who killed the children, and was only doing what was in the stories because “that is what his brother wanted him to do”. Katurian doesn’t want his brother to be executed for something that he wasn’t fully cognizant about so Katurian smothers his brother with a pillow. Katurian then later confesses to the murders of the three children, making a deal with Tupolski and Ariel that if he did they would not destroy his stories. When the police find the crime scenes they find that his description of them do not match the crime scenes at all. They know that Katurian wasn’t the murderer, but he is executed anyway for the murder of his parents and Michal.

From promotional pamphlets: The fairytales of our childhood are pretty unforgettable. Still, have you ever questioned their inherent savagery? Wondered, perhaps, about the wise grandmother devoured by the blood-lusting wolf? Or about the lame boy limping futilely behind the town's children, as they followed the tune of the Pied Piper?

YAY. it's odd but i'm worrying that i can't understand their accents and second, that i'll reach home at 1! it's not exciting at all to come home yourself. and i'm also worried that i'll be freaked out by the play.

but it's okay i will immerse myself totally in the novelty of plays and the pillowman's intellectually challenging and poignant content. i believe i will enjoy it thoroughly! based on my intuition because when i first saw the advertisement on a taxi at suntec i knew i had to watch it. as with all other movies i believed in at first sight this shouldn't be an anomaly.

another of the movies i believed in at first sight! which brings me to the topic of reviewers. who kind of like slammed this movie. i think only synopses are necessary for publishing. if you want to know what others think about the movie or worse, if it's worth watching then go to online forums or something. i don't see why you should let the opinions of others' affect your own. it's brainless behaviour. and while compliments are always appreciated it's cruel to deem something not worth watching when so much effort went into it. and we're human. how easy is it to be objective?

I'M EXCITED!

i shall go read the newspapers now and think about whether i want to run.
