I've been thinking about a few things repeatedly over the weekend which is ending in approximately 2 hours. before the moment of truth comes tomorrow. but I'll commit my results to God!
1. love is best encapsulated in a dinner with your family! when everyone sits together and eats happily together and shares food and takes food for one another. admittedly, i don't take food for anyone but it's nice knowing mummy/daddy cares for me and don't think i need to cut down on my food intake. eating together means alot. even though the traditional ways of the Lim family is to take meals together with some entertainment - today it was Mrs Doubtfire, courtesy of video ezy, which actually means we don't communicate that much but by virtue of the fact that we place enough priority on sharing a meal together means everyone is fit and healthy so we can still continue the beloved chinese tradition of sharing the same dishes.
2. i've known this all my life - but i'm actually a great food orderer when i'm with my family because everyone else takes too long to order but i know what i want to eat. which is not a very fantabulous occurence given my knack for picking the priciest things, unknowingly. it applies to shoes and clothing and whatever. ironically, i'm a very down-to-earth person :D
3. what is cool? if everyone perceived to be cool goes the renegade way - and people, especially adults expect people trying to be different and deviant to be deviant and rebellious and go for black, more black, caps, tattoos, body piercings, piercing stares, fish-eyed stares, emo-ness, converse all-stars X.X, skinny pants, bad attitudes, choice vocabulary, fights, drugs, immoralness, dyed hair, or spiked hair to counter Mt Everest, bumster pants, swaggers, disdain for authority, slogan-spouting merchandise like t-shirts/bags/handphone pouches that say the world sucks in various ways - that isn't cool anymore! because you'd be doing things people expect of you when you choose to adopt a devil-may-care attitude. so in a way that would be living up to expectations. or, fitting a mold that those people were trying, or think they were breaking in the first place. cool is so overrated nowadays. i see nothing cool about cool. i'd like to see people living the way they want without trying to grab attention or trying too hard to be cool or, shock the world by being perfect.
