chronicles of a 17 year old employment seeker
today after pw i walked all over toa payoh and ang mo kio to find a job
before that i went to 120 macpherson road, royal sporting house building
because i wanted to apply to be a sales executive for zara/pull and bear/massimo dutti!
and i made the startling discovery when i came out of the lift at the 7th floor that sales executives probably just stay in the company and not in the shops selling things cos everyone i saw sitting on the couches filling out forms/waiting for their interview were immaculately dressed and i was in rj pe shirt and skirt. HAHA
i thought i'd give it a gamble though i sort of expected everyone would be dressed up
to conclude employment seeking episode 1 i got a few stares, smiled and then took the lift down to go back to toa payoh where i walked all over finding employment
in the meantime i also directed an old lady to the toiletries shops.
and didn't get employed, surprise surprise.
i went in one shop to ask and the salesgirl very nicely asked what my age was before telling me they only hired people 20 and above.
anyone can see with their knees that i'm definitely not 20, especially when i'm in half-uniform!but i appreciate her kindness and tact because she could have just said straightaway that i could not be hired.
and i really want to be a sales assistant in a clothing shop but not in a shop selling clothing i wouldn't bring myself to wear.
i think it's important you believe in the products you are selling
lian clothing? NO SAVE ME!!
employment seeking episode 3: i walked all over amk and amk hub and as a backup plan enquired at mos burger, they pay only 3.50 an hour!! even my mum thinks it's exploitation. i keep comparing to jasmine's 7 an hour job but my parents think that environment is dubious. wahlao 7 an hour...SIGH. even Guess supposedly pays 6 an hour.
speaking about Guess, employment seeking episode 0 should be me calling Guess' hotline but to no avail.
employment seeking episode 4: went to ramen ten at jubilee and they pay 4.50 an hour and erh, i dont see why this is worth celebrating over but they allow crew members to wear jeans.
so to sum up my dejected day of employment seeking i went to get a cup of mr bean soya milk ice cream and went home dejectedly.
any conglomerate/executive/shop owner who happens to see this ,
HIRE ME!!!!!i am hardworking, occasionally smart, always calm and collected, i don't do puns, i have a great sense of humor cos i can make anything funny! :D i can talk alot, i adore fashion, i'm responsible, i have a mind of my own, i work well with others and also on my own, i am an idea machine! i smile alot, and i won't keep asking for pay rises and lunch breaks though with my rational and evaluative mind you have to offer reasonable conditions first. and having faced pretty bad customer service before i am able to learn from the mistakes of others and always strive towards the best i can offer my employer!oh yes and i am energetic!
HIRE ME PLEASE. HIRE ME PLEASE!actually there are so many other little things i should say before i forget
but i can remember only one now.
on monday a couple stood outside their home for about 3 hours quarelling and bellowing at each other.
my brother was like, eh jiejie there's a movie outside
so we took peeks for a while.
common refrains in an argument: "it's always my fault!", "i try so hard but you..."
and following the recent conclusion of the marriage series in church and the tearing all around as couples embraced,
for which i have to say my parents have a serious problem with PDA. as in they can't even hold each others hands
marriage is complicated!
but pastor teo said one thing - thank you God for creating love.
people always say humans would be nothing without love
the world would definitely be a scary place without love, but it isn't expressed enough.
to conclude this, thank you kehui for reminding us about PW entry proof! and also, thank you God for loving me and letting me find my entry proof without tears and wails.
my right and left eyelids keep twitching, vigorously uncontrollably and for extended periods! why why why?
and i need to speak loudly HELP
but since money makes the world go round,
HIRE ME PLEASE!
CANDICE! â¥
